While useful on most Asian overhead cam engines, it is most needed on transverse mounted V6 engines such as the VG30 used in Nissan Maximas, as well as, the 3VZFE and lMZFE engines used in Toyota Camrys. The rear pulleys on these models are in very close proximity to the shock tower making removal and replacement difficult without this locking device.
